I absolutely positively LOVE Steven Lopez. You guys probably remember the posts I did about him last summer, and the art work I posted of Jill Scott. We’ll he recently did a portrait of Ms. Badu (one of my absolute fav’s) and it reminded me how much of a genius he is. I can’t wait to buy a painting and put it in my apartment! Shit is like 800 though.. So I’ll have to put that on hold until the recession ends.

Hedi Slimane recently shot Lindsay Lohan and even though most people are shunning her, I’m still infactuated with this chick. I can’t remember the last time she did anything remotely resembling work, but it’s all good. I think she looks great. Call me crazy!

N.A.S.A recently did a colaboration with David Byrne, Chuck D, Ras Congo, Seu Jorge, & Z-Trip for a song called Money, and the video was directed by Shepard Fairey (my favorite artist). Its pretty cool. Dig it!

Sarah Maple is probably the most hated artist/photographer in Europe; not by the mainstream, but by the Muslim community, who view her as a traitor and well… a whore… A REALLY REALLY BIG WHORE! Recently at a show, protesters broke windows, and screamed obscenities at her. :), but she takes it in all in stride.
After reading a short interview that DAZED & CONFUSED did shortly after her most recent show, I was compelled to research her, and then… I FELL IN LOVE! Not only is she hot, but her work, although funny, is very intriguing. Peep the interview after the jump, as well as some of her controversial work. Thoughts?
