Who is Tic Tac? What do you represent?

I am Tic Tac and I represent rebellion, colour and fun

What made you want to pursue music at the age of 18?

Well I started writing tracks in a mad craze after getting arrested and nearly going to jail and i decided music was a better path to pursue than crime

So your pretty well known in London’s club scene. How do you think your music reflects the sound and vibe that East London is known for?

I think it definitely reflects that, in terms of the beats but that’s because I work with people who came from the east London scene too.

You’ve described your sound as a mix of everything, as a rapper, what motivates you to write a particular song?

It depends from song to song but usually a situation that I’m going through, for example my upcoming single, Mr Weedhead, is about a friend who had a coke problem and my advice to him in that situation, so it’s all pretty life based unless it’s just something fun like gettopop, which is a just a fun song.

How do people react when they first see a 5′3 London boy in club wear killin it on the mic? Are people usually surprised?

I guess some people are surprised, its hard to gage what people think when your on stage, I get a good reaction in general, people seem to like it.

You’ve collaborated with some really dope producers including FrankMusik, how was that experience?

Vince [FrankMusik] is a genius, I love him, we met in the queue @ a club called antisocial a couple of years ago and he said he wanted to do some stuff together. he works really fast and just comes out with the most amazin’ stuff. I’m really proud of him and how well his doing. I met the Real Heat at a gig and we really hit it off and now I am releasing my stuff through their label, those are my sisters! Then I met Goldielocks at a gig as well and we did Conspiracy together, I’m lucky that I’ve met such talented people, I feel like I’ve worked with the best London has to offer right now, Tic Tac’s a lucky boy lol

You write all your own music, which is dope, how long have you been writing music?

Since I was 18, I used to try and write songs when I was a kid but they were embarassing.

Your motto is fashion is bullshit, style is eternal. Your style is definitely unique. how would you describe your style?

I’d describe it as colourful, playful and fun

How does fashion influence you personally, and how does it influence your music?

The music comes first but I have some amazing friends who customize and make clothes for me, Buzzta, makes me the craziest necklaces for me and makes me the best t shirts and hoodies and stuff she can customize anything and my friend Random Bangle makes me crazy necklaces too, I like my big jewelry. that helps me get the look together for the stage show and videos and stuff, but i’d say my music and fashion matches rather than influences each other.

When can your fans expect an Album?

Well my first single, Mr. Jeedhead, will be out either may or June on Real Hot Records and then the album will be coming maybe late 09/early 10, we’ll see what happens!

Are you working on any new projects?
I’m recording tracks for the album with The Real Heat, I just did a track with Ezra Bang and am looking forward to collaborations with Nu Brand Flexxx and Shimmer and also working on the video for Mr Weedhead!

Any advice for up and coming musicians?

Love what you do more than anything and believe in it, and be patient, nothing happens overnight, the quicker you rise, the faster you fall!
