The Cali based indie band Giant Drag is gearing up for a new EP Swan Song. Im actually slightly obsessed with the leading song off the EP. I don’t know why, it’s not usually the sound my ears are attracted to, but theres something about the lyrics and the delivery that is just… well… magic. haha. So I wanted to let my readers know about this band. They’ve been around for a bit, but have only recently caught my attention. Check out their MYSPACE page (click here).
So recently, I decided to introduce a new feature on RAT RIOT called Yo!, where I highlight young movers and shakers, who are slowly making a name for themselves. It gives my readers an opportunity to see people around their age who are doing things to make their dreams become a reality. The first person that came to mind when I decided to start this new project was Kendrick Daye, the founder and Editor of Art Nouveau Magazine. Philly rapper Tu Phace recently released a new track and I’m loving it. I’ve been waiting for a mixtape from him for more than a minute. I don’t quite understand whats taking him so long, but hopefully something will come my way soon, and I’ll be quick to bring it to you. The new track Flash features Young Chris. The track is dope. She’s from none other than the gritty and forward streets of London (of course), and she’s bringin’ a new sound and a new perspective to the music scene there. The buzz has been slowly growing around him in London, and he is starting to get the attention of many stateside who are captivated by his unique swag. So Sharam, the dopest DJ out of India :) haha, recently collaborated with Kid Cudi on a pretty wicked tracked called She Came Along. Its typical Kid. I Dig it. I heard it a couple days ago. So I felt compelled to share it since I’ve seen it on every blog today, and felt kind of left out.
